What a view to wake up to! As we arrived after dark last night it was difficult to get a clear picture of our surrounds, but was lovely to wake up and to being able to hear the waves crashing on the beach and within view of our balcony. Now to the reason for our Gold Coast trip - well those who know that Jess enjoys the world of the "Furries" and had attended the Victorian Convention, Confurgence back in Feburary in Richmond, Melbourne, this time it was for the annual 3 day Australian convention called Furdu being held at the Gold Coast. So Jess went off to join her Furry group for the day whilst Ryan and I explored Surfer's Paradise by checking out the shops, the buildings and of course the amazing surf beach that stretches for miles there, bordered by numerous high rise buildings. It is not hard to see why it is a very popular tourist destination. Ryan and I spend the afternoon at the beach, swimming and enjoying the waves swimming "within the flags." It was great fun! In the evening when Jess had joined us, we alI enjoyed exploring some of the nightlife and found that we happened to be there for the 4 day Live Event called Surfers Paradise LIVE which was happening just a couple of blocks away. A great day in paradise! |
