Queensland is famously known for being 'Beautiful One Day, Perfect the Next' and it has become it's tourism catch cry and it is not hard to see why. Even in this little pocket of Cairns in Far North Queensland, that that slogan is just what it has been for us during our stay so far. Whilst we will not get around to many of the attractions in the area, this tourism video will give you a brief overview of what things you can see and do when in and around Cairns. Cairns has a very high transient population given its popularity with tourists, particularly international tourists and consequently an incredibly high number of accommodation choices which is increasing as holiday rental companies like Airbnb and Stayz are becoming more attractive to Cairns home / apartment owners. Interestingly there was an article in the local paper about the shortage of regular long term rentals as more and more home / apartment owners turn to holiday letting instead.
Whilst I may never live here long term, it certainly is a great place for a holiday!
