Today we were thankful to just lie in a little and do some catch up jobs around the van and generally relax and take it easy. In the afternoon, Mr Roo and Roo took a drive into town to visit one of the Army chaps from Mr Roo's Battalion who lives here in Darwin and was not going to be able to come out to the Reunion later this month. It was great to catch up with him and his wife. We also popped down to the Bicentennial Park and Cenotaph at the Esplanade near the Darwin CBD. It was so refreshing seeing the blue of the sea once more, our first sighting since passing through Port Augusta, just on two weeks ago! This evening we decided to head to the Mindil Beach Sunset Market This market, one of several around Darwin |
We stayed on to see the sunset (with the huge crowd) and the amazing crescent moon. We also watched a very talented fire craftsman performing his artistic routines with ooh's and ahh's emanating from the crowd and guess who we ran into several times doing the same thing... our Adelaide River Inn folk from Foster!
All in all it was a fun evening!
